Music of Conscience

The season culminates in three weeks of unforgettable music created in response to historical events, political unrest, and societal turmoil. Highlights include John Corigliano's piercing, personal dedication to loved ones lost and impacted by the widespread AIDS epidemic of the ʼ80s, and the World Premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner David Lang’s prisoner of the state, a contemporary take on Beethoven’s Fidelio, putting a fresh lens on the fall of a tyrant. Community partners include The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center, the International Rescue Committee in New York, and Stonewall 50 Committee.
